Welcome to the Team Bloomfield Cruisers' page dedicated our club's three Ford Model A hot rods. The genesis of our team began back in 2017 when Carlos & Mike attended The Race of Gentlemen (TROG) as spectators and instantly knew they had to get into period-appropriate hot rodding. Fast forward to 2024 and Car 47b was born. Car 47b, a 1931 roadster, was purchased with the number "47" already painted on the door and transitioned to Car "47b" when we registered for TROG and #47 was already taken. Instead of going with 47a, we simply decided to go with 47b in the event "a" was taken. True story.

The next car to join was Car 47c. While it was cool for Carlos & Mike to take turns driving the roadster at TROG in 2024, Mike wanted to fulfil his desire to get a 5-window coupe. In 2025, Mike found his new ride in New York, a 1930 Model A. It was debuted at the 2025 Rodtoberfest and 2025 TROG. Overall, it's a great car but Mike quickly drew up a list of mods he wanted to do. As you can imagine, once you bring two cars to any show numbered 47 b & c, people naturally ask, "what happened to 47a?" Well, we offered a bunch of funny responses but it our hearts we had a real plan - to "pressure" our pals to step up and join the fun. Naturally, we looked to our pal, Steve, the remaining BC Pubah who already owns the Great Race Car 145, a stock 1931 Ford Model A Victoria (please see that page, it's a great car). That car is set up for rally racing and not dragging so Carlos and Mike would regularly search for cars to entice Steve. Truth be told, it wasn't a hard sell.

Before they knew it, Steve surprised his pals with the purchase of a 1930 Model A. The car was shipped from Colorado in the winter of 2025/2026. It has another number on it but it's only a matter of time before we add 47a to it, add a roll bar, and get to work on making it run optimally. We expect to have all three for 2026 TROG.
So now we have cars 47 a, b & c. However, Carlos, Mike, and Steve are steadfast at work for another car - yes, you guessed it: Car 47d. Who will get the next car? You'll just have to wait and see while we work our magic behind-the-scenes.

This car is a 1930 Ford Model A sport coupe: full doors with windows and a bop top. It's still new to us so we have to work on it, but it's a 4 banger. We will need to add a roll bar, 5-point safety harness, and likely some mods as Steve puts together his ultimate vision. More to come soon, stay tuned...

Car 47b, the first of the team cars, features a Model B engine mated to the stock 3 speed transmission with custom header, WAC intake, Lion speed cast iron cylinder head, and Stromberg 97 carb. It also has a chopped windshield, custom roll bar, and '37 Ford taillights. It rolls on '36-'39 wide 5 wheels by Firestone deluxe champion, 7.50 rear, 6.00 front. The suspension features a 4” drop axle with '41 round back spindles, SoCal front and rear helmet style shocks, '39 Ford hydraulic brakes front and rear. Lastly, it has a Boiling Brothers battery box with master cylinder.
It's a strong runner and sounds great. This cool photo is courtesy of Bob Plant Photography taken at TROG 2025.

Car 47c is a 1930 Ford Model A five-window coupe with 4-banger mated to the stock 3 speed transmission with dual Stromberg 81's on a Nystrom dual intake. It also features a custom lake header. Mike is currently working to upgrade to a 6.0 high compression head so he can blow it up and justify that flathead 8 he dreams of...
